 2008 Windsong Feature Film:

LOST SOULS: LIGHTHOUSES & SHIPWRECKS

This feature length film honors the memory of sailors, lighthouse keepers and rescuers who have lost their lives on the Great Lakes. The names of the characters in the film are fictional, but the stories they tell are based on true tales of courage.  In the storyline, college students set out to solve the mystery of the disappearance of a woman, Zelda.  Her father was a lighthouse keeper who perished during an icy November storm in a courageous rescue attempt. The mystery of Zelda's disappearance has been a cold case for ten years.Using scientific methods, the college students divide into teams and try to uncover the truth of what really happened to Zelda.  In the process they encounter Great Lakes pirates who are determined to find and steal Zelda's secret ledger, a key to determine if there is treasure to be found or not.

The film was shot on location in Indiana and on Lakes Michigan, Huron and Superior. The motion picture highlights many lighthouses, ships and shipwrecks including the Arthur M. Anderson.  The Anderson was the sister ship of the Edmund Fitzgerald that sank seven miles ahead of the Anderson in 1975 on Lake Superior near Whitefish Bay.
